Yoga for Figure Skaters

Figure Skating is a sport that requires athletes to not only have good cardio condition, strength, and power, but also flexibility and a great sense of balance, which requires a strong core and body awareness.

During her early twenties, while she was on tour around the world with Disney on Ice, Laia discovered Yoga and it's benefits. Not only did it improve her flexibility, balance, and strength, it became an indispensable tool for her general well-being, since it helped her focus, relax, and be happier.


She has continued to train and develop her Yoga practice and teaching skills through live and online workshops, seminars, and trainings, and regularly takes continuing education lessons with her mentor, E-RYT 500 Nichi Green.

In July 2016, Laia completed her Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga 200hr Teacher Training with E-RYT 500 Claire Santos at 305 Yoga in Miami, FL. Laia is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.


Coach Laia has developed a program in order to efficiently increase skaters' performance on the ice through yoga, enhancing all those abilities through a fun, low-impact workout. Currently Laia teaches both freestyle skaters and pair skaters ranging from beginner to World and Olympic athletes.

Classes for the 2017-2018 season at Florida Hospital Center Ice are as follows:


2:15pm - 3:00pm Singles

3:30pm -4:15pm Pairs


10:15am - 11:00am All
